My first card with my Magnolia stamps. So last summer I bought a lot of Magnola stamps. I don't have copics, and can't justify them. But I really like how this card turned out. The little girl is one stamp. The bench is another (not a Magnolia stamp either). I masked her to get her sitting on the bench. The trees are 1 Magnolia stamp. Then I colored everything in. Did a little blending and she turned out really cute. And then I wreaked it. I spritzed her with Glimmer Mist. What the heck was I thinking!? Well, obviously I wasn't. A word to the wise, Glimmer Mist can cause your projects to run ink which is exactly what happened. The pink in the sky is from the pink blossoms. I was quite sad, but I wasn't redoing this card again. I GM'ed it after I had put everything away, and I refused to do it again.

This was for a thank you card for a friend who brought me a care pkg when I was so sick during Christmas. I've had this done for a while. I just gave it to her though because I haven't been happy with it, yet I didn't want to re-do it, so she got it.

Throwing the basketball.

So I'm pretty proud of this card. My sister-in-law, who also has a cricut, and is very crafty, had her birthday the end of Mar, and we all know that giving something to someone who does the same thing is quite stressful. And I wanted to make this card special because it was a big birthday for her.

She plays basketball, and her # is 13. So I decided to make her a basketball card. The girl is from everyday paper dolls as is the basketball & hoop. The brick background is Scrapbook Sally paper that I drew the bricks onto and the floor is a SU! background stamp that I then scuffed on with the same stamp pad to fill in the color.
So the cool part of this card is the basketball. DH had the idea to have her throwing the basketball into the hoop. My idea had been to have her running to the court. That would've been easy-peasy. Throwing the basketball was not easy-peasy, and I was excited to try it. First I found the arc in Plantin Schoolbook. It's a parenthesis. :)

Using my gypsy, I calculated where the arc should be. I had it on a different tab from the girl and the hoop. I knew the dimensions of the card, so I put the girl and hoop on the mat where I would want them to go on the card, then on the other tab with the eye open on the girl/hoop tab, I put the arc where I wanted it (I could see the girl/hoop because the eye was open). I cut this twice, once on the Scrapbook Sally paper and once on white CS. I glued the pattern paper to the white CS to give it strength for the pennies cause this is a penny spinner card. I only cut this twice, because the calculations were correct. Yay for my gypsy!

The tricky part was the basketball stand. I did not think that the basketball would have to go through the white back of the stand to get to the net, so I glued it all together and ack! I had to pull it apart and manually cut the arc into the hoop stand, and then after some fiddling I had to add another pop-dot to the pennies otherwise the basketball would get stuck on the white stand instead of rolling into the hoop. I also took the arc part and glued it onto the blue background and the arc part that was white from the stand. This also caused issues with the penny getting caught spinning to the hoop. I needed to pop-dot that up 3 times. Yikes! I used a lot of pop-dots on this card.

But I love this card! I feel like it's a little masterpiece, and I gave it away.

Japanese card.

I have a 23 yo stepson who served a mission for our church in Japan. For his last birthday on his mission, I made him this card. The sun and the "altar" thing were cut from the destinations cart. I inked the rays of the sun, apricot and orange to give them dimension. The big and live words are from a SU! stamp set.

Then with my gypsy I designed the little gift envelope. Isn't it cute? Scuffed it with a blue SU! stamp pad. Then I cut a red heart out on my cricut, and then I cut the exact same heart out of magnet material. I adhesived the red heart to the magnet, and then I cut "Japan" out from the Lyrical Letters cart (love this cart), and glued the letters on to the heart.

I was so proud of this project. Glad I took a picture of it. His birthday was in Feb, gave it to him when he got home in Mar, and he promptly lost it.

vinyl bees

OK, aren't they adorable? From the create a critter cart. A friend from church asked me to cut some for her for her girls that she has activity nights with once a week. They did the 6 B's, Be Smart, Be Grateful... So I cut out the bees for the "Be" word, and then cut out the 6 descriptive words in pink. They painted wood plaques and then put the vinyl on them. Cute, eh? I feel in love with these bees, so I ended up putting a vinyl flower on the wall in our 1/2 bath with 3 bees flying around it. I'll post a pic of that sometime soon.

Dino mite

I made this card from the create a critter cart. The red stripes are from a SU! background stamp. And a $1 store bling. I really like the create a critter cart. So versatile!

A Whale Of A Tale

I love this whale from Create A Critter cartridge. S/he is so stinkin' cute. I got a pack of paper from Winners, and I'm not into butterflies at all. I avoid butterflies. So this paper was in there, and I was like "pukey", but then I was making this card and trying to decide what to do for the background/pattern paper. And I wanted it to be somewhat feminine as it was for a girl. Hah! The paper was perfect. The actual card is cut from the Just Because Cards cartridge as is the white inset. The whale that I stamped on the white CS is from a Stampin' Up stamp set.
The CS in the above card is stamped with a plaid background stamp from Stampin' Up. I like background stamps from Stampin' Up.

I made this background paper. And the flower came from the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge, which I must admit is a must if you want a variety of flowers. I love it.
This card is for my Aunt's birthday. I haven't sent the card yet and her birthday is way part. But I'm hoping that she'll know that it's the thought that counts.

Vinyl

Yes, I'm kind of addicted to cutting vinyl. I made a Christmas picture. It's all words that describe Christmas to our family. The word Christmas was in green, the words describing Christmas were red and then I had put 2 white snowflakes on it. It hung at the top of the stairs going to our family room, and when you walked by it grabbed your attention cause it was so bright and Christmasy.

It was the last thing I took down of Christmas. I didn't want to take it down cause to me it epitomized the happiness of Christmas.

I had made another vinyl picture that hung there before of "The Family Proclamation" that our religion follows. It was done in a dark blue vinyl. And I didn't want to put it back up again. I wanted some that was bright and happy.

So I made this!
And I love it!

Penny spinner cards

This was one of the cards that we sent out for Christmas. I had 6 designs that I made. We send out over 70 Christmas cards (which is expensive postage wise), but I love doing it, so my sweetheart encourages me.

The reindeer is from the Create A Critter cartridge. I stamped his face with Peachy Keen Stamps. No homemade background paper with this one. His eyes & hooves have glossy accents on them. And his nose is a red bling. I loved my reindeer cards this year. I used red bling for their noses, and they turned out so cute.

I cut the slot in the pattern paper with my fabulous finds cartridge. I have a gypsy, and I knew exactly how long/wide I wanted the slot to be, so I just change the dimensions using my gypsy. I cut the slot out of the pattern paper which was kind of flimsy pattern paper, so I had glued it to a piece of white CS. The paper with the slot in it should be pretty stocky, but it needs to not tear with the reindeer spinning on it.

I did a card like this before I had my gypsy, and I had to play around with scrap pieces of paper to figure out how to cut it to the right size.

You adhesive a penny to the back of the reindeer, attach a pop-dot to the penny, then put the pop-dot through the slot. Now you put a penny on the other side of that pop-dot. Now that you've got the reindeer "penny spinner" attached to the pattern paper, you pop-dot the pattern paper to the solid paper.

Here are some other cards that I've done with the penny spinner.

I scrunched up the flower on this one, smoothed it back out and ran a stamp pad over it. Yellow brad topped it off. But I have to say it was tricky attaching the penny because of the arms of the brad. I had to use a glue dot.

This one has fun flock on the flower. I loved that. Here's a close up. I ran it through my xyron sticker maker, so it was evenly sticky, and then dumped the flock on it. Way cool!

OK, this seems like a plain card, but I had my friend, Lan, over shortly after she got her cricut, and we were playing around with the Mini-Monograms cartridge. We did the scallop circle and the stitched circle from it. I calculated the size with my gypsy, and since she didn't have a gypsy, I would tell her the size and she would cut it. We did 4 cards that night.

Of course, we stamped the white CS, making our own pattern paper. I ended up really liking the finished cards.

Lan's since got a gypsy and loves it. Who wouldn't love their gypsy? ;)

Trifold skunk with PKS face

I love apricot and purple together. And I love the idea of a purple skunk. Other than the purple on the skunk and "happy birthday" all the CS (cardstock) started out as white CS. I love making my own pattern paper.

I added some bling on the small 4 corners. All white layers were cut on my cricut using my gypsy. If you want the gypsy file, I can figure out how to do that. I spritzed it with apricot glimmer mist. But look that skunk's face. Isn't it adorable? It's a Peachy Keen Face. Whenever I need a face, it comes from my Peachy Keen Stamps. I can not do free-hand anything, so my PKS faces are a must. Love the eyelashes! So stinkin' CUTE!

My Bic Mark-It Markers

I've fallen in love with this stamp set from CTMH (sorry don't know the name). I colored her in using my Bic Mark-It Markers and then used the Tim Holtz blender pen and blending solution to blend the colors together. Yeah, they aren't copics, but for what I need, they are good enough. I couldn't justify spending $5/pen, when a set of 8 Mark-It Markers is $5.

I cut out the green mat behind from one of my cricut carts, ran it through my cuttlebug to emboss, scuffed it with a green stamp pad, and attached it. I then spritzed it with with glimmer mist (love my glimmer mist) apricot color.

I cut out the daisy from the Walk In My Garden cart. And then I used Tim Holtz crackle paint on it. If you click on the picture below, it should come up bigger. You'll see the crackle paint better. It takes a day to dry, not a quick process by any means, but so cute. I used a pattern paper from a LSS which has since closed down. Little bit a ribbon from the $1 store and it turned out to be a cute card.
